Respite Care - Give Yourself A Well Earned Break From Caring
Caring for an elderly loved one is a rewarding but tiring experience. So why not give yourself a well deserved break with our Short-term respite care service.
Residents normally stay for periods of between one and two weeks. Depending on your loved one's medical condition you may wish them to travel to the home for a planned visit to meet the staff and other residents, look at their room and find out about the home before admission. The normal pre-assessment is carried out by the Manager with particular attention being made to reassure that it is only for a short stay.
Where possible the “Primary Care” is applied (based on Primary Nursing) and every effort is made to carry on with normal daily routines so as to keep disruption to a minimum, the purpose being to help with continuity of care when they leave.
If it is found after admission that extra care is needed or other services would be beneficial, then the normal carer would be contacted for consultation - except in emergency situations.
If you'd like regular respite care then a programme will be planned with you, your elderly loved one and their carer or representative being involved, admission and discharge being controlled through the home's working diary.
The Regency is a popular home so please call us today on 01271 355382 to reserve your place and avoid disappointment.
